Television is dead

I wouldn't say that TV is dead, look at the number of people wathcing American Idol, these guys are bringing in 30 million or so a week. Someone really needs to get an accurate count as to who these people are watching the show, is it the younger group or a good mix. I know my wife is starting to watch it and she has never watched a previous season but got sucked in this year watching the auditions. Sometimes I feel like the acting by the judges is scripted out like WWF wrestling, all for better ratings and for hype.
